2013 Review

We started off 2013 by welcoming Ford Michael Dickinson into the world.  What a way to start the year.  On January 10 our lives were forever changed for the better.  Everything changed. That little baby literally changed our perspective on life in a blink of an eye.  We were no longer just husband and wife, we were a family.  The real deal.  The nurses at the hospital actually let us take that baby home!  And thank goodness they did.  Because this year has been the best year yet.  

January 10 – Ford Michael Dickinson was born. It was a good day.

An EGG-cellent First Easter – Easter eggs, family time and baby sweater vests!

First Father’s Day – I am so thankful for Michael Dickinson.  I always knew he would be a good Dad, but watching him become one has made me love him more and more every day.  Ford and I are both very lucky to have him.

First Family Vacation – Vail, CO

On our way to Vail we stopped in Golden, CO. Michael was born in Golden and it was really special to see where he spent his first years!

MOOOOO - First Halloween

First Thanksgiving - Thanksgiving! There is a lot to be thankful for this year. On Michael's side of the family there was a major baby boom so it was so much fun to get all of the babies together.

2013 was a wonderful year and I can't wait to see what 2014 brings. We will be celebrating Ford's first birthday soon and we are excited to be expecting another baby in June!  There are always ups and downs through the year but we are so thankful that we have so much GOOD to focus on. We are definitely counting our blessings each and every day.

Catching Up! Month 4

Month 4 was such a blessing.  It was such a big month for Ford! He reached the major milestone of rolling over and it quickly became his favorite past time.  He is the happiest laying on a blanket, kicking his feet and rollin! Ford Man (nickname of the moment) also started smiling more, giggling and baby talking.  Baby talk is my favorite and we are getting plenty of it!  I have been told that Ford is quite a talker.   

He talks to himself.  
He talks to us.  
He talks to the babies at daycare.  
And sometimes he likes to start talking at 3:00 a.m.
Just because.  
The boy likes to talk! And we love it.

    

Gentlemen of the Road

We had such a great time at the Gentlemen of the Road concert in Guthrie! The music was awesome and it was great date for mama and dada!

Month 3

I have a confession.  I have an empty baby book for Ford.  I have not written down a thing.  I am terrible...but I do have hundreds of pictures of our guy and this blog is just going to have to serve as my baby book for now. 

So...here we go with month 3!

This is definitely one of my favorite pictures to date.  It is framed in my office and I look at it everyday.  One of our sweet relatives got us this awesome chair that is perfect for our big boy.

While I was on maternity leave Ford and I got to enjoy a little later bedtime than Daddy.  We enjoyed making funny faces during our late nights together.

During month 3 I went back to work...and it was not easy.  Being away from Ford literally made my stomach ache and my eyes fill with tears. I'm sure every mom that has done the same can relate.  But, each day has gotten easier.  We are getting into a routine and I think Ford actually enjoys daycare.  He is entertained by the other babies in his class and I hear that he really enjoys story time and walks outside = )  Here is a picture from the first day I went back to work.  I made it half way through the day and had to go see him on my lunch break.  This picture was also taken during the time Ford discovered his hands...
