Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love!

~ Hamilton Wright Mabie

Michael and I couldn't ask for a better first Christmas as a married couple.   The holiday was filled with lots of time with our families, food and fun .  We decided to celebrate our "first" Christmas the weekend before by making a homemade feast, listening to Christmas music and exchanging gifts.  Norma Jean even got a stocking and her very own can of soft dog food (quite the treat).

On Christmas Eve Eve we went down to Ardmore  and spent a couple of days visiting family, eating, playing board games, attending a candlelight church service and watching some pretty amazing Dickinson home videos.  It was relaxing and great.  We then made our way back to Edmond Christmas day where we got to celebrate with my family and stuff ourselves with some more great food.  We ended the day by going downtown with my parents to watch the Thunder play their first game of the season.  It was a Very Merry Christmas!

A Very Cozy Christmas Party

Michael and I went to a Cozy Christmas party last Friday and it was FUN.  We got to catch up with good friends, drink some wine, and play dirty Santa all while wearing our PJs.   Who knew flannel could be so fun?  We had a blast and can't wait until next year.  Also, Michael insisted on wearing his silk robe to the party.  He said it was manly.  Like Hugh Hefner.  Merry Christmas!

Norma Jean

Michael had to do two things when he met me: (1) Sweep me off my feet and make me fall madly in love with him and (2) Sweep Norma off her paws and make her fall madly in love with him.  Well, he accomplished both.  We love him and we think he is pretty great.

This is Norma Jean the day that I got her.  She is my 85 pound golden retriever who I love and adore.  It is pretty safe to say that before I met Michael she was the love of my life!  Now she is “our” dog and we are thankful for her unconditional love and puppy kisses every day.  Yes, I still refer to her as a puppy even though she is four years old and the size of a middle-schooler…

You, Me and Norma Jean

This is the story of us.  Our life as Mr. and Mrs. and all of the silly things we do. Hopefully some people will enjoy reading about us, but this blog is really just a fun way for me to document our new life together as we live, grow and play, of course.

A set-up never works, right?  But this time it did.  We were setup; we went on our first date to Pops and never looked back.

After a little over a year of dating we got engaged and were married this September (2011).  Now we are starting the adventure of our life together as husband and wife.  Every day I am thankful for my husband, our golden retriever: Miss Norma Jean and the life that we share.
